Marmot Bibliographies

5 November 2000

There are three bibliographic resources for you to get more information about marmots and marmot biology.

First, Raymond Ramousse, a French marmot biologist, has compiled a pseudo-searchable marmot bibliography. It is the single most complete resource and has over 5000 references--many of which also contain abstracts.

Second, you can look through the bibliography from Die Murmeltiere der Welt, a recently published book by Professor D.I. Bibikow (scientific editor: Professor K.B. Armitage). The book is Die Neue Brehm-Bucherei Bd. 388, ISBN 3 89432 426 0. The distribution address is: Spektrum Akademischer Verlag, Vangerowstr. 20, D-69115 Heidelberg, Germany, and their email address is: Westarp@t-online.de. An English version is in preparation.

Finally, you can look through my working bibliography. This very preliminary bibliography is in no way comprehensive and is very biased towards my marmot research interests (behavior and ecology). If you send me missing references (a reprint would be ideal), they will be included in the next update.
